Care & Maintenance Tips
Planting:
Plant in full sun for the fastest growth and densest coverage. Tolerates partial sun, but too much shade can result in thinner, less dense growth. For a privacy screen, plant where it has adequate room to reach its mature width.
Watering:
Water consistently during the first growing season to establish a strong root system. Keep soil evenly moist during establishment, especially during periods of hot or dry weather. Once established, it can tolerate normal periods of summer dryness.
Fertilizing:
Apply a balanced slow-release evergreen fertilizer in early spring if desired to encourage healthy foliage and vigorous growth.
Pruning:
Very little pruning is required due to its naturally narrow, upright habit. Lightly prune in late winter or early spring if needed to maintain shape or control size. Avoid cutting deeply into old, bare wood.
