Passion
Head Over Heels® Passion™ Hardy Hibiscus (Hibiscus moscheutos ‘RutHib2’) is a spectacular herbaceous perennial featuring enormous, bright pink flowers against dramatic dark burgundy foliage. Its combination of tropical-looking blooms and richly colored leaves creates a bold focal point in the summer landscape.
Large, saucer-shaped pink flowers with contrasting red centers appear throughout summer, creating an impressive display above the dark foliage. Unlike tropical hibiscus, Passion™ is a cold-hardy perennial that returns from the ground each year, providing an exotic appearance in landscapes where tropical hibiscus would not survive winter.
Its compact, well-branched habit makes Passion™ an excellent choice for perennial borders, mixed beds, mass plantings, pollinator gardens, containers, and around patios or pools. The large flowers also attract butterflies, hummingbirds, and other pollinators.

Care & Maintenance Tips
Planting:
Plant in full sun for the strongest growth, darkest foliage, and best flower production. Hardy Hibiscus prefers rich soil with consistent moisture and performs especially well in locations that remain moderately moist during the growing season.
Watering:
Keep soil consistently moist, particularly during hot summer weather and while the plant is flowering. Hardy Hibiscus is more tolerant of moist conditions than many common landscape perennials and should not be allowed to remain excessively dry for long periods.
Fertilizing:
Apply a balanced slow-release fertilizer in spring as new growth begins. Fertile soil and adequate moisture will help support its vigorous summer growth and large flower production.
Pruning:
Hardy Hibiscus dies back to the ground following frost. Leave the stems through winter if desired for winter structure, then cut the old stems back near ground level in late winter or early spring before new growth emerges.
Spring Emergence:
Don't be concerned if Passion™ is slow to emerge in spring. Hardy Hibiscus is naturally one of the later perennials to break dormancy and may remain dormant well after many neighboring plants have begun growing.
