Blue By You
Blue by You Meadow Sage (Salvia nemorosa ‘Blue by You’) is a beautiful flowering perennial prized for its vibrant violet-blue flower spikes, compact growth habit, and exceptionally long blooming season. Its upright flowers rise above attractive green foliage, creating a colorful display in perennial borders, mixed landscape beds, and pollinator gardens.
Blooming earlier than many traditional perennial salvias, Blue by You produces an abundance of deep violet-blue flowers beginning in late spring. With proper deadheading, it can rebloom throughout summer and into early fall, providing extended seasonal color. Its aromatic foliage and nectar-rich flowers make it especially attractive to bees, butterflies, and other beneficial pollinators.
Blue by You is an excellent choice for cottage gardens, formal borders, mass plantings, and low-maintenance landscapes. Its upright flower spikes add vertical texture and contrast beautifully with rounded flowering shrubs, ornamental grasses, and other summer-blooming perennials.

Care & Maintenance Tips
Planting:
Plant in full sun in well-drained soil. Blue by You performs best with at least six hours of direct sunlight daily. Avoid poorly drained or consistently wet locations, particularly during winter, as excess moisture can damage the root system.
Watering:
Water regularly during the first growing season to establish a strong root system. Once established, Blue by You has good drought tolerance and generally requires supplemental watering only during extended periods of hot, dry weather.
Fertilizing:
Blue by You generally requires little fertilizer. Apply a light application of balanced slow-release fertilizer in early spring if needed. Avoid excessive fertilization, which can encourage soft foliage growth at the expense of flowering.
Pruning:
Remove spent flower spikes after the initial bloom to encourage additional flowering. Cutting the plant back by approximately one-third after the first major flush can promote fresh growth and repeat blooms. Remove dead stems and foliage in late winter or early spring before new growth begins.
Winter Care:
Ensure excellent drainage throughout winter. In colder climates, leave some old growth standing until early spring to help protect the crown from harsh winter conditions.
