Walker Low
Walker’s Low Catmint (Nepeta × faassenii ‘Walker’s Low’) is a vigorous, long-blooming perennial prized for its abundant lavender-blue flowers, aromatic gray-green foliage, and graceful spreading habit. Growing approximately 24-30 inches tall and 30-36 inches wide, it forms a broad mound that provides excellent color, texture, and coverage throughout the growing season.
Lavender-blue flower spikes appear in late spring to early summer and continue blooming for an extended period, attracting bees, butterflies, and other beneficial pollinators. The aromatic foliage remains attractive throughout the season and is generally avoided by deer and rabbits. Lightly trimming the plant after its initial flush of flowers encourages fresh growth and additional flowering.
Walker’s Low is an excellent choice for perennial borders, foundation plantings, mass plantings, walkways, cottage gardens, slopes, rock gardens, or as a flowering groundcover. Its larger size and spreading habit make it especially useful for filling larger areas where smaller catmint varieties may not provide enough coverage.

Care & Maintenance Tips
Planting:
Plant in full sun for the densest growth and heaviest flowering. Walker’s Low can tolerate some light shade, but excessive shade may result in looser, floppier growth and fewer flowers. It performs especially well in sunny, well-drained locations and is highly tolerant of heat once established.
Watering:
Water consistently during the first growing season to establish a strong root system. Once established, Walker’s Low is drought tolerant and generally requires supplemental watering only during prolonged periods of hot, dry weather. Avoid consistently wet or poorly drained soil.
Fertilizing:
Very little fertilizer is required. If needed, apply a light application of balanced slow-release fertilizer in early spring. Avoid excessive fertilization, which can encourage excessive or floppy growth.
Pruning:
Lightly shear the plant after its first major flush of flowers to encourage fresh foliage and additional blooming. Cut old growth back in late winter or early spring before new growth begins.
